Noah Quotes

After spinning around for a few seconds

"Whoa...it's getting dizzy in here!"

Upon learning that someone hurt her ankle while running on a treadmill...

Noah: But how did she get up there in the first place?
Jeana: She just stepped on.
Noah: But didn't she get dizzy?
Jeana: I don't think so. Why would she get dizzy?
Noah: People get dizzy when they go 'round and 'round on a windmill.

While I was swaddling Tobin to get him ready for a nap...

"Mom, you're putting Toby down? Wow!"

During one of Toby's marathon nursing sessions...

Noah: Mom, when I was a baby, did you feed me all the time, too?
Jeana: Yep.
Noah: Thank you, Mommy. Thank you so much!

My Little Mans

I took Toby to get weighed on Tuesday. He was 8 pounds 1 ounce. It seems like he changes every day. He's bigger. He's awake for longer periods of time. He's starting to make cute baby noises. I want to cherish every moment but they are passing me by so quickly.

Noah and I had a special date today. We got Slurpees and then went to a toy store. My firstborn is growing so quickly, too. He seems taller, braver, more independent. He told me today, "Me and Daddy are mans. We do man kind of jobs. Like taking out the trash and bringing in the wood. And folding towels."

Happy Birthday, Elias Robinson!

Congratulations to Paul and Annie and Robinson on the birth of their beautiful son, Elias. Annie and I took home pregnancy tests on the same night and have spent the last 8 months emailing and blog commenting about our pregnancies with each other. It was really fun and great blessing to be pregnant with Annie. I'm so excited for the fun and blessings she will have being a new mom to a baby boy!

Loving Jesus at Target

While shopping at Target, Noah was quietly singing "Jesus Loves Me."

Noah: Mom, do you know what song I'm singing?
Jeana: "Jesus Loves Me"?
Noah: Yeah. But do you know why I'm singing it?
Jeana: Why?
Noah: Because I don't love Jesus. But after I sing it a few more times I will.

About 10 minutes later...

Noah: Did you notice that I am still singing "Jesus Loves Me"?
Jeana: Yes. Do you love him yet?
Noah: Yeah, I'm singing it so that you can love him.
Jeana: Thank you. I do love him.
Noah: I know. I'm also singing it so everyone in Target can love him.

Pictures! Pictures!

Scroll down to see some of the pictures we've taken over the past couple of weeks. The video of Toby rolling over is here, too. Check out our Web Album for more. Enjoy!

Purple, Green & Yellow

Purple, Green and Yellow by Robert Munsch is one of Noah's current favorite books. In the story, Brigid colors her fingernails (and much, much more) with super-indelible-never-comes-off-till-you're-dead-and-maybe-even-later coloring markers.

Noah was inspired.

Thank goodness Sharpies are only regular indelible and will come off before death.

Glow Baby

Toby had a little jaundice thanks to our blood types being incompatible (I'm O, he's A). He had to spend a few days (March 31st through April 3rd) on phototherapy lights. He's all better now and here are some pictures of our little glow worm.

Toby Turns Over

*Updated* Sorry, I didn't realize the video was on the "private" settings. It's fixed now, so you should be able to view it.

It's a little dark, but you should still be able to tell what's going on. The first time he rolled over I couldn't believe it. But he just kept doing it and it really seemed like he was rolling intentionally. Anita was there to witness it and now we have proof on video.

How Noah Sleeps

Remember when we caught Noah sleeping like this?

Well, he's given us some new material!
Perhaps he is dreaming that he is a shepherd?

A pretzel dream?

Quick Update

I've missed blogging! But it's really hard to type and nurse and the same time...

Toby is doing great! He had his two week check up today and is back up to birthweight plus one ounce. So I know for sure that he is getting enough to eat. He also grew a whole inch! The doctor said he looks great and just as she was finishing up her check he peed on her. So now he is even with his big brother who peed on a doctor at birth.

Sometimes I feel like a milk machine since I am ALWAYS nursing. But I know it won't last forever and I'm really grateful that breastfeeding is working out this time around. Thankfully, Toby eating a lot during the day means that he is sleeping a lot during the night. He gave us a four and half hour stretch last night!

Geary has been incredibly helpful with taking care of Noah and doing tons of househould chores. He has also been getting up for the middle of the night feeding to bottle feed pumped breast milk--bliss! This is his Spring Break and I don't know what I'm going to do when he has to go back to work on Monday.

So far the hardest thing has been having to repeatedly ask Noah to wait. Wait to play, wait for lunch, wait till I'm done nursing or changing a diaper, wait, wait wait. Poor guy. I do make a conscious effort to not put Noah in second place every time...but it's always hard when I have to. Thankfully, he's being very gracious about it and seems to be completely in love with his baby brother. Geary and I have each taken Noah out on special one-on-one dates and I'm sure that is going a long way in curbing any jealousy.

I have a camera full of pictures that I need to post but Toby is ready to eat so that will have wait, too. Also, look forward to a video of Tobin rolling over at only 12 days old! I thought it was a fluke, but he did it 5 times in a row! Genius child!

by Anae J. Trahnil

G ah! Why is my shirt wet?!?

A Sweet Moment turned Hilarious

Noah told Granny, "I'm too big to sit on Mommy's lap."

My heart broke a little when she told me what he said. "Noah, sweetie, you were never too big for my lap. I just didn't have any room on my lap because Tobin was getting too big."

He gave me a big hug and said, "But there's room now?" I scooped him up and held him close. "Of course. There will always be room for my first son."

We cuddled for a while and then Noah said, "When Toby was inside you I could only fit on Daddy's lap...because his seeds didn't get too big!"
