Black Butte 2010

We are very blessed to have generous parents with a cabin at Black Butte Ranch.  It is so much fun to visit there every year.  This year was especially fun because we got to be at Black Butte with Geary's sister and her family so all the cousins could play together!

They had a blast riding bikes, going swimming, playing with Littlest Pet Shop, reading books on the bunk beds, and creating a fort.  We also made some yummy snacks together and played games.  I'm so glad we are creating warm family memories for our children.

Some other fun things we did include getting ice cream in Sisters, antique shopping, visiting with another Veritas family who were also vacationing at BBR, spending time with Papa John and Grandma Mary, having family pictures taken, watching World Cup soccer games, and playing Dominion with the in-laws.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to Grandma and Grandpa Bob for providing such a fun vacation for us!  We love you!

Life at Full Speed

Jeana walks into a dusty corner of the internet, picking cobwebs out of her hair.

"Hello?"  Her voice echoes across the emptiness.

"Anyone still here?"

She dusts off her blog header and straightens out the tumbling sidebars.

"I know it's been quiet around here but in the real world I've been running at full speed.  There has simply been no time to blog.  But I have some cute pictures from Black Butte and a few from a baby shower I just hosted.  So...I hope you'll come back and read again."

Jeana hears crickets but leaves the lights on.  She will be back soon.

Back to Life

We just got back from our annual trip to Black Butte Ranch.  It was wonderful, as always!  And Miles got his second tooth there!  We are all tired but happy and ready to sleep in our own beds.

It's the Small Things

Geary:  Hey, Noah. Want to go with me to Fleet Week in Portland and see the U.S. Navy?

Noah (shrugging):  Mmm...sure.

Geary:  We can bring lunch.  I got you a Pizza Lunchables.

Noah (jumping for joy):  Really?  Woohoo!  Yeah!!

Soapy Goodness

When I gave birth to Miles my doula gave me a bar of coconut lime soap that she had made herself.  It was...amazing.  It smelled good and felt good and made my skin smell and feel good.  I was pretty sad when the last sliver of that soap slipped down the shower drain.

But good news!  Mel has made more beautiful soap and is selling it to make money so her family can fly to their new home.  I bought two bars and I'm encouraging you to buy some, too.  Not only will it help my beautiful doula friend, but you will seriously love this soap.  It' good enough to give as gifts, too.  And, bonus, you can support handmade!
