Parade

Auntie Em works at a bank and she invited Noah to ride in the bank's stagecoach during the Old Fashioned Festival parade.  The rest of our family lined up on a shady area of sidewalk and eagerly awaited seeing our Noah.  Here are some of the best things we saw while we waited:

My handsome husband and my adorable Miles with the cutest round belly.

Toby was given a candy bag from an insurance company and promptly opened it up
expecting candy to rain from the sky.

A cute schoolhouse float and Newberg's own bagpiper.

And then suddenly Toby's wishes came true and candy was falling all around him.

This is what Miles was doing for the first half of the parade.

Wait, I'm not sure you can fully appreciate that from a still photo.
You must watch the awww inducing video.

Dancing horses and a mariachi band.

By this time Toby's candy bag was so full he could barely lift it.

A unicorn!  A patriotic unicorn!

Floating hand bell choirs and old timey brass bands.

Fred Meyer and Grocery Outlet mascots.  Sometimes when I shop at Grocery Outlet it is like
someone squeezed a rainbow into my bag!

Cool shuttle float.

Calliope float and square dancing float.

And then Miles got bored and decided to walk away.  He didn't get very far.

Awesome and unique peacock puppets.

They were so cool!

So was this incredible raptor puppet/costume.  I was very impressed.

And then, finally, on the very last float we saw Noah!

He looked darling and I know he'll hate it that I said that.  But it's so true!

He's got his parade wave down, too.

At the end of the parade Toby had nearly half his giant bag full of candy.

It's definitely going to be one our sweetest memories.

And just in case you need to watch it again, here's Miles doing the cutest wave ever:

Bye-bye!

Old Fashioned Festival 2011

Day one of the Old Fashioned Festival was a success!  I'm sharing a booth with two other artists
so I had to pull out my mad Tetris skills and make everything fit onto a 4x2 foot table. Here's how it all turned out:

My banner.  I still love and use the wooden sign that Grateful Tulip made for me but for this event I wanted something a little more summery.
I'm really happy with the outcome.

The big picture.  I wish I had ironed my tablecloth.  Oops!

Tower of flowers.   These little beauties are my best craft fair sellers.
I stuck them near the front to draw people in and so far it seems to be working.

Free Starburst and my new business cards.

Crooked necklaces mean people have been looking.  I better straighten those out before we open today.

I love this one so much.  I know these rolled rosettes are all over blog land but I couldn't resist giving in to the trend.  I'm going to have to make one of these for myself.
Poppy & Pearls necklaces in lots of colors.

Pretty pennies.  These have been a big hit with kids.

A shutter full of earrings.  Sorry this photo is blurry.

 Random necklaces.

Dandelion necklaces and earrings.  And you can see Tree necklaces and Sea Stars in the corner there.

A bowl of pretty pennies.  Customers love digging through that little bowl.
The clinking sound of pretty pennies makes me happy.

And that's it!  Three more days to go.  I'm having fun and all that hard work has been totally worth it.
Thanks for looking!  And super thanks for all your support and encouragement.
