Wow, it's been 11 days since we've able to blog. Here's the short story...more details will have to come later because I'm extremely tired.
Over Labor Day weekend,we took a trip out to McCall, ID with Geary's parents to visit Geary's Uncle John, Aunt Mary, and Cousin Eric. We had a fantastic time and I can't wait to share more about it. A huge bonus for the trip was that John and Mary gave us their 1998 Honda Accord! It's such a huge blessing and I'll definitely be sharing more about that later, too.
Geary left Idaho on Monday morning (1st day of school was on Tuesday) and I was planning on driving back with Bob and Garyanna the next morning, spending a couple more days in OR with them, and then heading home Thursday or Friday. But God had other plans for me.
On Monday night I became extremely ill with intense lower back pain and violent vomiting. I woke Bob and Garyanna up in the middle of the night and they called the E.R. in McCall. A nurse said it sounded like some bowel virus going around and that I shouldn't have anythng by mouth for 24 hours.
So we stayed in McCall.
24 hours passed and I did not get so I was admitted to the E.R. with severe dehydration issues. After a couple baggies of electrolytes, some x-rays and a CAT scan, I was told that I have a kidney stone! A big one, too! It's 4 to 5 milimeters (a bebe is 3m) and I have a 50% chance of passing it on my own.
Let me tell you...passing a kidney stone is a gazillion times more painful than childbirth. I'm on pain medication, but still really uncomfortable.
Anyway, Bob and Garyanna drove Noah and I back to their home in Albany, OR where I spent a lot time sleeping and watching TLC and HGTV. Geary drove down on Friday night which was wonderful because I really, really missed my husband! Today we drove home and although I'm glad to be back, I'm really sad that I had to leave my best nurse behind. Geary's mom, Garyanna, was my sanity this past week. Not only did she do a phenomenal job taking care of me, but she provided endless hours of love and entertainment for Noah.
Sigh. There is so much more to this story, but I need more pain killers and more sleep. Keep us in your prayers! I'll update soon!

Wow, Jeana, that does NOT sound like fun! I was wondering where you've been!!! Glad to hear you are home safe now. I will pray for a SPEEDY recovery. God Bless.
ReplyDeleteKristal =)
Ugh. Sorry, Jeana. Let us know if we can do anything for you.
ReplyDeleteUgh indeed Jeana. I know the pain. When I was sixteen, I had the pleasure of passing one. Wish I had some grand thing to say that would ease the pain. How did I spell relief? V-I-C-O-D-I-N-E.
