Google Art Appreciation

I really like Google's banner today.

It's done in the style of surrealist artist Joan Miro, who was born on April 20th 113 years ago. In addition to liking his fantasy style of art, I find it interesting (in a math geek sort of way) that he was born in 1893 and died in 1983.

  2. Unfortunately, Google had to take it down. They didn't ask permission from the artist's family, and the family sent a copyright infringement letter to them. Google took the logo down, but never responded to their letter.

  3. And how shortsighted of the family! They just turned down an opportunity for a ridiculous amount of free attention for Miro's art. There's a news story at http://www.mercurynews.com/mld/mercurynews/business/technology/14390386.htm
