Brotherhood

Noah had just walked out of the bathroom and was closing the door...

Toby:  Noah, you didn't close the light!

Noah:  I know but Dad is in the shower.

Toby:  Dad wants us to close the light.

Noah: Not when he's in the shower.

Toby:  Wait, who's in the shower?

Noah:  Dad!

I had asked Noah to make some toast for Miles.  It seemed to take a long time for the toast to pop up and when Noah finally handed a piece to Miles I could see that it was pretty charred.

Jeana:  You might want to turn the dial down--that toast looks pretty dark.

Noah:  I know. But's okay, I ate some of the black stuff off for Miles.

Noah and Toby were getting out some kid plates for breakfast.  Miles was ping-ponging himself between them speaking gibberish.

Noah:  I want the green plate!

Toby:  I want blue!

Miles: Shoe!

Noah: Hey, that rhymed!  Toby say "blue."

Toby:  Bluuuuuue.

Noah:  Shoooe.  See!  It rhymes!

Toby:  Bluuuuuuue.

Noah:  Shooooooe.

Toby:  Noah, now you say "green."

Noah:  Okay.  Greeeeeeen.

Toby:  Shoooooe.

Lego Yellephant

Yesterday afternoon, while Miles and Toby were taking their naps, I heard the distinct sound of Legos being shuffled around in their bin.  With a huge grin I stopped folding laundry and went to find Noah sorting the bricks.  "It's time," I said.

"Time for what?" He replied.

"Time for the elephant."

Noah's grin matched mine, "I'll get the book."

My son skipped off to retrieve a Lego instruction book that he had received for Christmas.  And over the next hour we built...

The Yellephant

We used nearly every yellow Lego in the bin.

He is solid Lego.

I am kind of in love with the Yellephant.

Isn't he adorable?

But he is more adorable. And a total Lego rock star.

The End.

Ruby Willow:: April

In keeping with my goal for one new jewelry item each month, here is April's design:

 Lace Leaf Earrings

Lacy, golden, leaf shaped earrings.
They are delicate and lightweight but still substantial in size.

Flirty, whimsical, a "goes with anything" pair of earrings.

Only available in gold, but there are two sizes.
The large leaves are just under two inches long
and one and a half inches wide at the widest point.
The small leaves (shown below) are one inch long
and just under one inch at the widest points.

I'll do my best to take a picture of both sizes together
so you can see the difference.  They will be listed in my shop
on Thursday but I'd love to know what you think today!

One of Those Days

Raced to the store to get peanut butter for Noah's lunch before school started, only to drop the jar in our driveway.  The glass shattered and was only held together by...peanut butter.  We normally grind our own peanut butter at Fred Meyer or Winco but this time, since I was in a hurry, I just grabbed a jar of Adam's.  So, I'm going to back to bed in order to start this day over.  Peanut butter.  Who needs it?
